Research Center for Ethics in Business and Social Responsibility (CreaRes) was founded in 2004.

The Center was created in recognition of these two objectives.
First of all, we acknowledge that social and ethical perspectives and questions are increasingly relevant and significant in many economic and legal contexts within the worlds of private and public institutions and professionals. Moreover, the Center aims to become a reference point for the intersection of these fields by bringing together the specialized skills of the Faculty and the University facilities with external resources.

During 2005, CreaRes’s members studied in depth the most important issues referencing ethics in business, ethical finance, ethics in corporate governance and ethical codes, social accounting and, in particular, social reporting.

CreaRes has also been involved in the research project on “Social enterprises in Varese’s district” and in social accounting processes utilized by some for-profit and non-profit organizations, operating in different economic sectors. CreaRes’s members also contributed to the organization of and teaching activities of the Master’s Program in “Ethics and Social Responsibility in Business and Professions”, sponsored by School of Economics and School of Law at the University of Insubria for academic year 2004-2005.

In the future, the Center will continue to promote research activities on these topics, as well as facilitating consulting and teaching activities.
