Seminar: Davide Secchi (University of Southern Denmark), “The Computational Simulation Exploration Method (CSXM) for management and organizational research”, 15 December, 13.00, Sala Consiglio

On December 15, 2017, 13.00-14.00, Prof. Davide Secchi (University of Southern Denmark) will give a talk on “The Computational Simulation Exploration Method (CSXM) for management and organizational research”.

Abstract

This talk introduces to the Computational Simulation Exploration Method, or CSXM. This method combines statistics with agent-based simulation modeling and integrates them to other traditional research methods in management and organization studies. Although bound to the quantitative, CSXM is developed to provide support to exploratory research in general, including qualitative and conceptual work. After describing what CSXM is and what it is for, the talk presents a three-step process including the platform it is built on. It then applies the method to a practical case as an attempt to provide a how-to guide to researchers. In exploiting the potentials of agent-based computational simulation, CSXM offers management and organization scholars a way to run systematic enquiries to fully explore the least apparent aspects of their research.
